Bethany is Sick…
Poor little Bet has caught a nasty bug. Lonnie was sick earlier in the week, but I’m not so sure she got it from him. His was more of a cold, but hers started out with a high fever. No real cold symptoms, just a fever of about 101 since last night. Children’s ibuprofen seems to work for 2-3 hours at a time, then her fever jumps back up. Right now she’s sleeping…or trying to.
She was in a couple of shopping carts this week, and while I always try to wipe those down with a disinfectant wipe (that a lot of stores seem to be offering…finally), you just never know.
Sick, fussy, and clingy, she didn’t want me to leave her side all day (with the exception of this morning, when she fell asleep on Joel’s lap). To keep her happy and minimize the chances of any throwing up she might do (though she did, once), we watched what she wanted to watch…all day. That would be about nine or ten episodes of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (on Comcast OnDemand, but actually, there are only four episodes to choose from, which means we watched them over and over…), one episode each of Thomas the Tank Engine and Handy Manny…and I’m sure Hannah Montana was thrown in there somewhere, too. It was all she wanted to do.
I did manage to read a few Sesame Street books to her (thank you, Roberta!), so that the entire day wasn’t devoted to the TV…just 99% of it. Ugh…you know, if I turn my head too fast, I do believe I can feel my brain sloshing.
On the upside, Bethany and I got to spend many hours just snuggling, and that’s the important thing. She’s growing way too fast.
